[Special Report from Watch House Basel] On April 25, 2013, the annual watch industry event Basel International Watch Fair kicked off. The watch house team went to Switzerland. In front of you, we will bring the exhibition report in the first time, and send the new watch pictures of major brands as soon as possible. Here is a new Basel product for everyone, Rolex Greenwich II real shot, friends who like Rolex can preview it.
The new CERACHROM ceramic word circle is a great achievement of Rolex in technology and aesthetics. Using patented technology developed by Rolex, two ceramic materials with different colors are made into a whole word circle. This design echoes the traditional two-tone bezel of the first Greenwich and Greenwich II watches. CERACHROM ceramic word ring came out in 2005. It has strong anti-scratch and anti-corrosion performance, and it will not fade even when exposed to ultraviolet rays. Its surface is diamond-polished for superior gloss. In the 24-hour progressive scale of the word circle, a thin layer of platinum is filled by PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) coating technology developed by Rolex.
Oyster case: symbol of water resistance and solidity
The Greenwich II watch has an oyster case diameter of 40 mm and a water resistance of 100 meters (330 feet). The distinctive middle case is cast from 904L stainless steel, which is extremely resistant to corrosion. The triangular-shaped bottom case is screwed tightly by Rolex watchmakers with special tools exclusive to the brand to completely seal the case. The winding crown adopts a patented triple-lock triple waterproof system, which is firmly screwed to the case and protected by a crown shoulder that is integrated with the middle case. The mirror is made of scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and a small window convex lens is installed at 3 o’clock to make it easier to read the date. The fully sealed Oyster case provides the best protection for the highly accurate movement of the Greenwich II.
The pictures and information collected by the reporting team in front of the Watch House will be uploaded to the special topics in Basel, so stay tuned.
