Today, we are going to introduce two new flagship models launched this week at the Geneva International Horological Salon, from Officine Panerai and Roger Dubuis. Both watches are Deeply inspired by black.
Roger Dubuis vowed to be one of the few truly independent and authentic watchmakers in the watchmaking industry (the company has successfully created its own hairspring and escapement). All its watch products are 100% owned by Poinçon de Genève (Geneva Hallmark) The Imprint of Geneva. Recently, to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the famous Imprint of Geneva, they specially produced eight special limited edition watches. (For more information, see our other article on Roger Dubuis.)
This week, the brand launched a completely sporty Pulsion watch, named after the adrenaline stimulating heart that makes your heart beat faster. Although this new series uses the same RD680 column-wheel chronograph movement as the Monégasque series launched last year, the new Pulsion series chronograph has a rougher design style, obviously to attract more customers who like ‘outdoor sports’.

A distinctive feature of this new watch is its semi-open dial. Through the half-floor dial, the exquisite decoration of the RD680’s exclusive chronograph movement is clearly visible. The revolutionary structural design engraves the three-dimensional Arabic numerals 12 and 6 Under the mirror, it shows the intricate craftsmanship, equipped with a new black rubber strap integrated into the case.
The new Pulsion series of titanium chronographs, including DLC black titanium chronograph and rose gold chronograph, DLC black titanium flying tourbillon skeleton model is the top model of the series.
Continuing the theme of black, Panerai’s new star this year is 1950 Luminor Tuttonero, as its Italian name indicates, it is all finished in black. It has a matt black ceramic case and is the first Panerai watch to be equipped with a ceramic bracelet, which is also matt black. The final touch is a special 2 micron thick black coating applied to the P. 9001 / B movement by electroplating.

The P. 9001 / B movement has a three-day power reserve (visible from the power reserve indicator on the back of the movement), the small seconds dial at 9 o’clock, and the central Greenwich standard time hand. The 44mm Tuttonero watch is also available with a standard P.9001 movement without black coating (but the movement can be seen through the smoked sapphire case back, which continues the theme of black) and Panerai’s special brown Leather strap.
